What's Your Style?

Imagine a woman wearing a fashionable outfit on a date but not brushing her hair. Think of a man donning a designer suit but not shaving. We would be quick to realize that there is something lacking in their style. While these are all external, there is much more to style than meets the eye.

George W. is a fashion consultant who succeeds by reminding his clients that style has more than one element. He highlights that real fashion begins on the inside. A person can spend hundreds of dollars on a dress or suit, and still have a faint sense of self…and be very much out of fashion. Bloomingdale’s, Burberry or Boss cannot cover low self-esteem.

It's important that a person feel happy within himself and project a positive self-image.
This can be reflected in one's posture, facial expressions, and way of speaking. Furthermore, one should avoid putting himself down, even if he feels that way or if she thinks it sounds modest. Instead, he should be confident about his strengths, share his passions, and celebrate the good things in his life. “As water reflects a face back to a face, so one’s heart is reflected back to him by another” (Mishlei 27:19). The way someone sees himself is they way others see him.
