It's the Right Thing to Do

How do we react when we are unimpressed with the person we are dating? Do we turn ourselves off? Answer questions in monosyllables? Make an excuse to go home?

There are many reasons why we should always strive to be our best selves on a date. Even if the person is not for you:
  • your date may know someone else who could be right on target
  • your date may be asked about you and will have wonderful things to say about you
  • you may bring out a better side of your date that you didn't know existed and develop a great relationship
Above of, it's just the right thing to do. How we act makes us who we are.

Take it from Simcha - Simcha and Ari used to visit the same coffee shop every morning. Simcha would greet Dave, the man behind the counter, with a friendly "Good morning!" as he anticipated receiving his daily hot cup of pure joy. Yet Dave never responded or acknowledged Simcha's good wishes. This went on for three months. One morning, Ari asked Simcha, "Why do you keep saying good morning when Dave never responds to you?" Simcha indignantly replied, "Just because he doesn't respond, should I let him change the way I greet people?"

Aside from doing the right thing because that's who we are, we never know the impact it can have on other people.
